Session Date: April 22, 2021
Session Description: Implementation research, as well as community engagement, is key to translating nutrition research and experiences into effective programming. While practitioners may agree on the importance of engaging family members in support of mothers and primary caregivers, there is less understanding on how to do this. This session will cover three implementation science experiences with engaging fathers, grandmothers, and other family members for improved child and maternal nutrition. Panelists will highlight implications for practitioners and discuss recommended approaches to engage stakeholders and family members throughout the program cycle, as discussed in new program guidance developed by USAID Advancing Nutrition.
