Towards the Elimination Agenda 2030 – Empowering Women as Hepatitis Champions
Empowering the Women is a cutting edge solution to viral hepatitis in Africa. More than 90% of people living with viral hepatitis are unaware of their condition. The burden of viral hepatitis is 12% Hepatitis B prevalence and 4-6% Hepatitis C prevalence in Africa, lies principally with womenfolk as they are principally affected by the: Maternal to child transmission, Sexual transmission and, Child to Child transmission. Thus, to ‘lighten’ this burden for the women of Africa, a Training programme is being embarked upon by the Women in Hepatitis Africa, a subsidiary of LiveWell Initiative LWI; with a goal to attaining the elimination of viral hepatitis by 2030 in line with the WHO Global Health Sector Strategy on Viral hepatitis.
This Session targets women of all Sociodemographies.
