Novel Training Approaches to Improve Maternal and Newborn Health Outcomes
Using a low dose, high frequency (LDHF) approach to learning, Jhpiego has been supporting providers in Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo to provide high quality, day of birth services. This session will introduce participants to the LDHF approach and compare it to traditional training approaches. Then, facilitators will guide participants in a typical skills-building session for prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage using the Helping Mothers Survive materials, including taking a pre-test, performing demonstrations on simulators, and taking a post-test. To end the session, facilitators will present service statistics to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach and its impact on the quality of services provided.
