Improving Care Quality to Respond to the Zika Outbreak
The USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems (ASSIST) project is working with Ministries of Health and other partners in eight LAC countries to support development of clinical guidelines, capacity building of health care providers in Zika-related clinical care and counseling skills, and support for over 350 facility-based QI teams that are improving the quality of Zika-related health services through quality improvement collaboratives on Zika-related services in antenatal care, newborn care, and
care and support for children and families affected by Zika, including psycho-emotional support. This session will explain how the model for improvement is used to improve Zika care through an interactive exercise to decide on improvement aims and changes to test to improve one aspect of Zika care
