Advancing Implementation Science Partnerships for Better Policy and Program Implementation
Myriad examples suggest that the creation and strengthening of implementation science partnerships represents one of the most highly leveraged strategies for effectively contributing to national efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, examples of IS partnerships that appear effective and sustainable are often the result of years, if not decades, of working together. Providing an overview of implementation science, panelists will discuss how to overcome the challenges to creating IS partnerships using the example of an IS collaboration on urban health in East Africa. The panel will also discuss the Fall 2018 launch of the Implementation Science Collaborative, a platform seeking to seed and support the bringing together of global, sub-regional and subnational level actors into IS partnerships to address critical health needs.
