LISTEN: Community of Practice-Based Model to Support Transitioning to Sustainable, Country-Owned Innovation and Service Delivery for HIV Epidemic Control

Session Date: April 23, 2021

Session Description: Despite significant gains in the fight against HIV, countries continue to face substantial challenges in reaching epidemic control through realization of sustainable service delivery, which is country-owned and integrated across health systems while being responsive to community needs, desires, and innovations. In this session, panelists will describe the experience and learnings from the introduction of the LISTEN (Local Initiatives Scaled Through Enterprise Networks) Model into Kenya and Eswatini, offering a structured process to support local ownership of problem-solving through the introduction of Community of Practice (CoPs) processes into clinical, government, commercial and social structures and organizations. The discussion will describe how the integration of CoPs, supported with basic use of data and human-centered design (HCD) has supported community and government ownership of solutions and innovations for their chronic challenges, including progress toward HIV epidemic control.
