Session Date: April 23, 2021
Session Description: In this session, we will set the context of 2 settings: 1) the humanitarian crisis among Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh and 2) health scenario among women and girls in Indian state of Bihar. We will facilitate interaction around 3 key questions: 1. What are needs of women and girls in these contexts related to health and support for gender-based violence? 2. How can programs comprehensively meet these needs of women and girls across sectors? 3. How can we operationalize cross-sectoral programs that are gender-transformative? The presenters will describe programming principles that were implemented to address cross-sectoral programs for women and girls in large humanitarian and development contexts (Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh and Bihar India). The workshop will conclude with considerations for gender-transformative cross-sectoral programs to meet the needs of women and girls. Join us for an interactive, thought-provoking session!
